Sam and Snezana Wood, one of Australia’s favourite ‘It’ couples, are saying goodbye to their beloved family home in the inner Melbourne suburb of Elsternwick.

After spending months on and then off the market, the pair have officially sold their luxuriously renovated Victorian-era residence as of July 18, with DOW Real Estate’s Taylor Dow managing the sale. While the sale price remains undisclosed, the property was advertised with a $6.6 million price tag.

The five-bedroom, three-bathroom residence was first listed by Marty Fox‘s Whitefox agency back in November 2024 with a price guide of $6.35-$6.65 million, but quietly disappeared after sitting on the market for over three months, before being re-listed with DOW Real Estate a couple of months ago.

The 125-year-old property, which Sam and Snez bought in 2018 for $3.31 million, was extensively renovated by the couple with the support of architects Castley McCrimmon, transforming it into a luxurious, light-filled family abode, complete with a state-of-the-art gym, marble-clad kitchen and a dedicated children’s wing.

The coastal suburb of Elsternwick, which is 9km south of Melbourne’s CBD, has a median house price of $1.9 million, making Sam and Snez’s property a real jewel in the crown.

The entrepreneurial pair, who met on The Bachelor in 2015 and won over the hearts of Australia with their sweet love story, were married at the end of 2018 alongside Snezana’s daughter Eve, and have since gone on to have three more daughters together.

Full of original architectural detailing, soaring ceilings and plenty of modern amenities, including a swimming pool, a guest suite and a gym, the home seems perfectly tailored to this young family, prompting many of their followers to ask why they decided to sell.

“Girls are moving schools next year and want to be close to that school,” Sam replied to a comment on Instagram back in November 2024. “We love renovating too so excited to find something we cba (sic) hopefully renovate together when the time is right but oh how we love this home.”

Sam also told Home Beautiful last year that although the home was designed to suit the family long-term, they would like a little more space. I definitely think our goal was to make this a forever home, and I don’t think we have outgrown it – we could comfortably live here for the next 30 years. However, as the kids get bigger I’d love them to have a slightly bigger backyard and guest bedroom,” he said. “I think the fact we also love renovating gives us that extra motivation to see what we can do for our next home.”

The gym

To have a well-appointed gym like this at home is true luxury… and don’t even get us started on the sauna. According to Sam, this space is also totally soundproofed. He can drop weights and Snez can blast music while the kids are sleeping! Now that’s good design.
